adfNovember 19 - 23 is Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week. Follow #KINDCHSS on Twitter and Instagram. Here are some events we'll be holding this week:

Monday: #KindCHSS Handshake Challenge kick-off;  Nick Foley School Wide Assembly in Period 3 & Inclusion Workshop Period 4 (student leaders)

Tuesday: Outreach table at lunch with Kindness Cards

Wednesday: Sound Academy singing in the cafeteria at lunch

Thursday: "Take a Compliment, Give a Compliment" slips and free smile cookies at lunch

Friday: Handshake challenge showdown / Homeroom Door Holders

Lifetouch Photography will be at the school taking graduation photos from Monday Nov. 19 to Friday Nov. 23. 

Appointments must be booked online and are on a first come-first served basis. Students can visit Student Services to pick up their information sheet and brochure. 

 

 

Students in grade 9 math have made an information board to show how much sugar is in candy they might find in their treat bags this Hallowe'en. During this critical thinking exercise, they measured out the grams of sugar for each type of candy. This informative board was made by Ms. Donald’s and Ms. Pickstock’s math class.

 

 

ossltIn order to graduate from secondary school in Ontario, each student must demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing. These skills are assessed through The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT). The OSSLT is scheduled annually by EQAO. This year's test will be March 27, 2019.

Most grade 10 students and some grade 11 students will be writing the test this year. 

You can find out more information about the OSSLT in this document. We will have student preparation sessions scheduled throughout the rest of the semester and into semester 2.
