We are so pleased to announce that our unique partnership with Quinte First Credit Union has resulted in a $2000 grant for our Entrepreneurship class. Alexandra Leavey from the Credit Union applied for a grant to help promote cooperatives and start up businesses. Mrs. Spry, the teacher of the class says, "I plan to get some flat grills for grilled cheese sandwiches to go with smoothies." Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action, HPEDSB is proud to announce an evening with Dr.
Niigaan Sinclair. Niigaan is a dynamic speaker who through narrative, will bring understanding,
positivity, and reflection to the work around Truth and Reconciliation within Canada and how we all
play role.
Niigaan will use his wealth of knowledge from both formal and lived experiences to empower and
inspire you to look toward the future and ask what can we do today, that will support and continue
to build positive relationships in Reconciliation.
Beginning on Feb. 7, our Guidance teachers will be working with students to choose courses for next year. This is a good time to start discussing the future! Questions like "What pathway am I best suited for as a learner?", "What is my post-secondary destination plan?" and "Do I have all of the required courses I need for graduation?" will spark some good discussions at home.
These three tools will help to support your planning processes:
1. Our course calendar website
2. Our 4-year course planning worksheet - My Education Planner
3. MyBlueprint - our course selection and career planning website
